Description
90 local makers, tinkerers, hobbyists and entrepreneurs will gather at the Science Museum of Virginia for the fourth annual RVA MakerFest.
Event Details
This FREE, family-friendly event features hands-on demonstrations in robotics, science, art, technology, engineering, sustainability, food, music and fashion.
Attendees will be able to engage with makers including robotic teams, blacksmiths, glassblowers, video game programmers, 3D printer technologists, jewelers, screen printers, scientists, puppeteers, artists, craft beer brewers and more. Makers will lead quick hands-on making activities for attendees as well as have HANDMADE GOODS FOR SALE.
Local food trucks and Väsen Brewing Company's craft beer will be available and the museum exhibits will be open to the public.
RVA MakerFest has 3 components:
1 - Celebrate & showcase the awesome talent of RVA makers
2 - Educate attendees about how things are made by watching demonstrations and making items at makers' booths
3 - Connect attendees with makers and makers with makers
Making activities for children and adults! Take home what you make!
