Event Details
Hustle Souls is a feel-good, power-house Soul Roots and Funk act based in Asheville, NC. Inspired song-craft meets high-voltage jams, 4 part vocal harmony, New Orleans trumpet, and one of the most creative rhythm sections in a long time. The band has earned their reputation, from Tennessee to New York City, as one of the most exciting bands to watch in the South. With undeniable originality, the music pushes the nostalgic sounds of Memphis and Muscle Shoals, into modern and refreshing territory.
The 4 piece band: Billy Litz (vocals/keys/trumpet), Chris Everrett (guitar/vocals) Sean McCann (Bass/Vocals), Tommy Moore (Drums/vocals) formed in the growing music-mecca of Asheville, NC in 2015. The collaborative and eclectic band, whose members all sing and write for the group, have drawn comparisons to a wide array of acts, from St. Paul and The Broken Bones and Alabama Shakes to the Grateful Dead and Van Morrison but in the end, Hustle Souls have created a sound of their own that fits, comfortably but not neatly, into a Soul revival movement.
PRAISE FOR HUSTLE SOULS
"... I have a good feeling about what they will bring to our music community.......I was up-close and personal, their energy taking my soul for one hell of a ride.....The harmonizing in here is so touching, gracing me with the most beauty I have felt in a long time.......They have the courage to put their stories, emotions, and souls out there, and that is inspiration for us all..... " - Kerri Tucker in "Hustle and Heart" (read full article)
“Litz didn’t play around when it came time to create his rhythm section” - Greenville Journal
“They’ll take you there.... A prolific tunesmith...Blessed with a distinctive lead voice — high, thick, suitably retro” - Bold Life Magazine (read full article)
